Would there happen to be anything on Apple.com's store, or possibly in a local Apple Store that I could purchase? I'm very scared of ordering things through other places :P
I've tried six or seven USB card readers with my Mac, from multi-card readers to single purpose SD and CF readers, and have yet to come across one which didn't work properly. Pick up a cheap one, plug it in, and odds are that it will simply work.
Any USB card reader that handles SD cards will work. Card readers are really very simple things, and their use is pretty fool-proof. All you do is buy it, plug it into your Mac, insert your card, and BOOM, the card mounts and shows up on your Desktop (you can even set iPhoto to open when this happens, or not).
I have a card reader that I picked up at Walmart for something like $12, which reads 15 or so different card formats. I heartily recommend something similar, as this will allow you to read not just your own card, but most anyone elses, too. This comes in very handy when you want to have pictures someone else may have taken with their camera, or when someone wants to see what your cool Mac can do with their pictures.
Just make sure that what you buy supports your own card. Do not spend more than necessary; buy it at Walmart, Target, etc.
That one would work, yes. However, it comes with software, which you don't need. For this reason, it is much more expensive than one you could get at Walmart or Target for less than half the price.
Here's just one that reads 23 different card formats, and for only $12.98. If I am not mistaken, mine is made by Sandisk, and was also picked up at Walmart.
