Is there no Proxy switcher for Safari?

Hi

I sometimes need to use a proxy to access certain sites. I can ofocurse enter Safari's proxy settings everytime that need arises but its a real hassel. I would like to be aable to toggle on or off different proxies or no proxy at all. This is all possible in firefox, but I really like using Safari. Is there no plugin or script solution that could help me on this??

Hi Tom

No script or plug-in I'm aware of.

Safari does utilize Automatic Proxy (PAC or Proxy Configuration file). Here is one example of how a set-up would work. If your Proxy is specific, you'll be able to use this method. To deselect the proxy requires a manual change in the Network panel in system preferences.

Consider sending feedback to Apple suggesting a different approach to Proxies, perhaps more like Firefox's method via the Browser's preference file.
