I have FCP HD but I don't have a HD camera. I 've been using my sony mini dv cam for capturing but now I have a mini HD tape I want to import in FCP. Are there some sort of settings I must use to import it in first? If so what are they.
Without it, everybody is shooting the dark. So asking a second question, without responding to our inquiries serves no purpose but to delay a solution.
Then you aren't going to be able to capture that video. You need FCP 5.1 to capture HDV. FCP 4.5 doesn't support that format, as HDV was introduced AFTER FCP 4.5 was.
so can u send me a link to upgrade my FCP 4.5HD verson to the version for capturing. But don't send me here and there...just to the link. Or do you know a place where I can get the new versions I need. Cause I know I need 5.0 first before 5.1 right?
You don't have to get 5.0 before you get 5.1. BUT...wait. Apple is making a big announcement on Sunday and it might be Final Cut Pro related. Wait until after Monday to buy anything.
Just go to the Apple Store. There is no free upgrade from 4.5 to 5.1...or whatever new version might be released.
