Importing HD video

Which cam with what video capture settings was there?

Find that out, and then match the sequence settings in FCP.

Be specific about what the video was captured on and what you are currently using.

You aren't going to able to import HDV footage on the cam that doesn't have the capability to shoot with.

No. You need the exact type of camera, or deck from the same make, in order to play back this footage.

And you say you have FCP HD...what version of FCP do you have?

One suggestion:

Twice I've asked for specific information.

The reason is to assist.

Without it, everybody is shooting the dark. So asking a second question, without responding to our inquiries serves no purpose but to delay a solution.

Then you aren't going to be able to capture that video. You need FCP 5.1 to capture HDV. FCP 4.5 doesn't support that format, as HDV was introduced AFTER FCP 4.5 was.

You don't have to get 5.0 before you get 5.1. BUT...wait. Apple is making a big announcement on Sunday and it might be Final Cut Pro related. Wait until after Monday to buy anything.

Just go to the Apple Store. There is no free upgrade from 4.5 to 5.1...or whatever new version might be released.
