connector broke off logic board, wires pulled out of connector attachment

In an effort to upgrade my powerbook and save some money I have tried to install a superdrive on my own. During the process the connector for the power button to the logic board came off the logic board, and now surprise, surprise, the computer will not turn on. Has anyone had any luck reattaching connectors to the logic board? Do I need a new logic board?

Also, on another connector, the wires broke right at the connector attachment during the disassembly. Does anyone know how to fix this too?

I'm starting to feel hopeless. Replacing the hard drive was so easy, I thought I could do this too, but now I'm stuck.

Thanks for your time.

Ouch! Well these places won't charge you as much as Apple normally when repairing your notebook.

Reattaching connectors to a logic board requires delicate understanding of where all the circuits are. Some may be hidden, and you need a very steady hand and a good saudering iron. As the schematics are not available you'd be blindly trying to repair what you aren't familiar with. Best to let someone else replace the board, than dig yourself deaper into a hole.
