I just copied a backup audio CD. It plays fine on my home DVD player, but will not play on an older CD player. The files are AIFF. Do I need some other file type to play on my home CD player?
Some DVD players can play WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files, but an audio CD player can generally only play audio CDs, so the files must be burnt as an audio CD.
I have successfully copied audio CD's in the past. I have the preferences set for audio CD. Is there another place to set the file type? Does it matter what type of blank CD is used? This one is a RW. Ones I have done In the past were just recordable.
If you have it setup in the preferences to burn an audio CD, then then whatever files you use to burn will be converted to that format.
The CD-RW might be your problem - older CD players often can't play them very well.

I am going to assume the disk is my problem until I can buy a new supply and try again. Thanks much.
