Does iChat support DNS SRV records?

(Cross-posted from the iChat AV forum)

Hey all,
I'm trying to integrate iChat (among other XMPP-aware clients) into a jabberd server environment. Our DNS is run by BIND 9, and I added the following:
xmpp-client.tcp.mydomain.com SRV 0 0 5222 jabber.mydomain.com.

These changes applied just fine, and I can dig the results. I then try removing my explicit server declaration in iChat's account settings, and it auto-fills the field with 'mydomain.com' and then fails to connect. I was able to do the same with Gaim, so it appears its a limitation of iChat. Does anyone know if iChat is SRV record aware? I'd assume it is, since I believe Apple's iChat-Server handles itself through DNS SRV records.

You need to talk on port 5223 for the ichat server in the standard configuration since it supports SSL with plain text login.

Also there is a . missing in the xmpp-client.tcp.mydomain.com(.)
