can i play it on my mac? the sims2

Yes… all versions of the MacBook Pro can run The Sims 2 without issue. Obviously the newer models do a better job of it but your MBP will do just fine… it'll do extremely well in fact.

I have a similar problem as you; I have a brand new macbook Pro, 15 inch, and have installed the Sims2 onto it about a month ago. It was working perfectly fine until about a week and a half ago. Now when i play i can get to the neighborhoods and houses but once i actually begin to play it randomly quits on me. This has happened every single time i've played, which is often, for the last week and a half. That's not even the strange part; what's weird is that it works fine on my parents' computer which is a macbook Pro 17 inch but a year older than mine. Do you have any ideas?

a month ago, I just purchased my MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM with an Nvidia GeForce 8600 Video card. I have been meaning to play SIMS 2 on it. However, I have read on many reviews that there seems to be some kind of problem running it on the new MBP. I have contacted ASPYR regarding the matter and they said that when the game was developed, the Nvidia GeForce 8600 video card was not yet in the picture. That's why there's some kind of incompatibility. However, they assure that they are in constant contact with Apple to try to improve on this issue. And that, in fact, there is a new software update that helps this.
Anyone out there playing the game on this platform? Pls. let me know if there are improvements so I can finally purchase the game. thanks
