Hi, I am very new to Motion, so please forgive me if this question is very basic. I have been struggling with the Kaleidescope filter. I have a jpeg image that I want to apply the filter to and have it stop at a point where the image returns to "normal". I have applied the filter and have it working, but I cannot figure out how to fade to the image....
Okay, so I open my image and click on the layers menu. I can see Layer 1 and the name of my image ("Lucy"). Do I duplicate "Lucy" and add the filter to the top one named "Lucy" or to Layer 1? I know this is a beginner question, I apologize!
Figured that part out. But I am noticing that my image is blocked on either side by black bands. The image I began with was square, which I know poses problems, but no matter how I scale, I keep losing the edges of the effect?
Images are automatically scaled down to fit to the Canvas. You can increase the scale by dragging a corner, or do it in the Properties tab of the Inspector. If you drag, hold down the Shift key to scale proportionally and the Option key to scale around the anchor point.
You'd be well served to do the tutorial that comes with Motion to get oriented to the basic operations of the program.
