Converting OD replica to a master

My mail server is set up as an OD master and for POP3/IMAP authentication. I now have to move the mail server to a new machine at a different physical location and decommission the OD master.

How can I get the users to the new machine with their authentication info intact? The new machine is currenty running as an OD replica. Can I convert it to a master easily?

There are a few steps, but it's fairly straightforward. Before you start, make sure all changes from the master have been replicated. Then follow this apple how-to:
