Accessing FTP folder with "Write" access through Finder ?

HI everyone,
I have managed to access my FTP folder on my server by doing this: ftp://username:password@www.website.com:21
Then I can browse to the folder and create a folder an alias that will bring me to that folder automatically.
However I only get read only access to that folder.
How do I make it writable ?
I can write to it through a normal FTP software such as Transmit but I need to be able to do it through Finder to simplify my blogging process.
Thanks

Thanks Matt,
My main problem is that with Firefox I can only drag and drop to the desktop..I cannot drag and drop image files straight to an FTP server folder into transmit...any tips ?

I am trying to simplify having to drag drop and image from firefox o the desktop and back to an FTP folder...it would have been easy to drag drop straight to FTP.
Thanks for tips !

Ah, so you're dragging images from a web page off the site and want to do a one-step upload to an FTP server?

I can think of two options

- If you have the registered version of Transmit 3, you can install a Dashboard widget from their site. I've just tested, and you can drag images directly from a website to the widget (eg, configure the widget for your FTP site and path, drag the image, hit F12 to reveal the widgets, and drop the image on the widget). However, you can only do this one image at a time

- Maybe set up an Automator task or a folder with Applescript Actions, put the folder or applet on the desktop, and drag the images into it. I'm not savvy enough to know how to set that up, but there are plenty of smart characters on the boards (linked) who should be able to help.

If it's something you really can't do

That's definitely the way it has been, for a long time at least.

I don't
understand why Apple would publish this "Tip."

I wonder if it is just an error, where the person was not really using ftp but some other kind of server connection (like webdav) and didn't know the difference, or operating is some special environment where ftp writing is possible.
