itunes crashing?

Hey everyone

My problem is pretty simple but it seems to have come some what out of the blue.

Basically whenever i connect my ipod (30gb Video) to itunes (latest version) itunes stops responding with the usual windows message of this program is not responding.

But as soon as I unplug the ipod, itunes works fine. Unfortunatley, my ipod does say "Do not disconnect" and since i couldn't eject it normally due to itunes crashing, I had to just take it out, and my ipod ended up wiped.

I've tried reseting the ipod, reinstalling itunes and replacing the connector cable. I've also done tried the help and support articles on the website...

Anyone have any ideas?
