Activity moniter HELP

Activity moniter HELP

When i try to open the Activity moniter the icon appears in my dock for about 1 second and then just dissapers :S any ideas how i can get it working again?

Something I've learned generally is to delete plists when applications behave strangely. So try going to library>preferences>com.apple.activitymonitor.plist, and remove it to the desktop. Try to open the activity monitor again, and if it works this time, trash the old plist.

Then go to applications and right-click (control-click) on activity monitor. Choose "show package" and try to open it up from inside. Does that work?

Open the Console in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and look at log entries made around the time you tried to open the Activity Monitor; if you see one about a tool not being setuid root, use the Disk Utility to repair permissions. Otherwise, post back with relevant log entries.
