Mac Pro shipping boxes

An unexpected change of address is going to happen in two months. From Hialeah, Florida I am moving to Madrid Spain. My problem is that I got rid of all my original shipping boxes and now I need them. I know that Apple sends you a box if you need repair of your machines.
I have 2 Mac Pros, 1 Cinema display 23" and 1 20".
Any help or advise will be realy appreciated.

Hello Beltran,

If you can't get the correct boxes....

Find an oversized box for each device. Seal each device with polythene bags and strong tape - Then stuff the boxes full of popcorn! Its cheap. Its light. Its eco friendly and.... You can eat it all at the other end of the journey! 🙂

Thanks for your attention, but I once had a very bad expirience
with one of this oversized and overstuffed boxes. I received the 21 inch monitor in three pieces.

Personally, I would double box everything. First, wrap the monitors in bubble wrap at least double layers. Place in a box close to it's size with popcorn. Place this box in an oversized box with popcorn on the bottom first then the box and fill in all the voids. Tape well and put plenty of insurance on it.

I too like to use the original shipping materials and do keep them for many items, like my Mac Pro (offering to give you my box isn't really going to help you given it's already in Spain).

Have you contacted some local Apple Stores, resellers and service centres to see if they're able to either help or have any helpful suggestions?

One option you may or may not have considered is to sell your MPs and displays and then buy new ones when you get here. All you'd need to do in that case is to rip out and drives or RAM you want to keep and only pack and take that.

And, personnaly I am in France 🙂 It's not that far from Spain, and I live in Burgundy, which is a GREAT place for wine :-)

Well how about this Cheshirekat… you send me an airfare to Colorado and I'll bring you all the fantastic Spanish wine that'll fit into my luggage allowance. Otherwise, if you prefer girly French wine you're going have to send it to Maxwell and have him do it. 😉
