How to change doubleclick behaviour?

Hello.
I just bought the iMac. I love it.
One thing though is that I do not know how to change the behaviour so that when I doubleclick the primary key, instead of minimizing, i'd like it to be maximizing. How do I do that?

Let's start here:

1. Open System Preferences

2. Click Keyboard & Mouse

3. Click the Mouse tab

4. Click the dropdown list for one of the 5 buttons.

If your item does not appear on that list, select Other...

What about after that?
I don't think I can choose any double-click behaviours from that list...

I really have no clue why the double click behaviour wasn't included in the Mouse Tab.

Do you mean the minimizing effect of double-clicking on a window title bar?

If that is what you hope to change, it is not possible. You can't change that behavior to a maximizing event.

No, the question is if it was possible to configure one of the mouse buttons to perform a double-click (I used to have that option years ago on an older Windows machine) - I have not found such an option for the Mac.

I don't agree with your interpretation of the question. The question specifically states he would like a double-click to maximize a window rather than minimize a window.

I guess we'll know for sure when he responds.

I would like to edit the behaviour of the double click, such as changing from minimize to maximize.

I thought Apple would be able to do that... Just add few lines to their OSX and I think this will be solved!

C'mon Apple Devs... It'll take you what. 5 minutes to do this?

knvb1123,

When you bought your new Mac, was this your first computer or did you switch from another machine (i.e. PC w/Windows, PC w/Linux, PC w/OS/2: Warp, etc.) ?

PC with Linux... If I ever get time I plan on installing all 3 (Windows + Linux + OSX)

especially with the release of Linux Ubuntu 7 "Feisty Fawn" which supposedly is a lot better than Ubuntu 6 I had before.
