Does Final Cut Pro work on a MacBook Pro?

Sorry for the really stupid question, but I just want to make sure that Final Cut Pro can run on the 17" MacBook Pro -- pimped out with 3GB RAM and the 200GB hard-drive. The person I spoke to at the store today (not an Apple store... we don't have one where I live) was pretty clueless (like me, haha).

I know I should get some sort of desktop unit but I'm going to be going to move out for school (which includes editing classes -- it's one area I wouldn't mind working in) and would really prefer to have a laptop. Help is appreciated!

FCP 5 yes. Motion 2... I'm not so sure. I far I can't launch in mine.

Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 works fine on my MBP w/2GB RAM 2.33 ghz Core2Duo. 3GB of RAM is a good idea, maybe consider going for the 100GB hardrive as well. It has a smaller capacity but has a higher RPM than the other hard drive options.

Motion works fine on my MBP, as does the rest of FCS.

Final Cut Studio 1 works nicely on my MBP (2.16 Ghz Core Duo, 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400 RPM HD)

if someone else was paying then I'd definately put in more RAM, I'd recommend size over speed for the internal HD, and then getting a fast external media HD.

Ditto Andy's post... I just did a whole demo at NAB on one... very neat indeed.

Needs to be FCP 5.1 or 6 (when it ships next month)...
