Screen Glow Through Case

Hi All,

Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this:

I noticed yeterday that in a dark room, the there are spots around the glowing apple logo that are also lit up very slightly. That is, when the macbook is open and you look at the glowing apple, there seem to be spots where the screen is also lighting up areas above and next to the apple.

This is not diffuse, but looks like a specific outline of a shape -- as if the screen is too bright and/or the case isn't thick enough to block all of the light.

Anyone else?

Also, I noticed that this is only the case for my C2D macbook, and that it seems that the apple glows brighter on that laptop than on the Core Duo.

What you may be seeing is the light transmitted through the case from little tabs inside. In a lot of designs where they have two pieces together such as the apple and the case itself they have tabs they heat to expand and keep the second piece connected to the first. Better than using glue.

The heating of these tabs may have allowed enough change in the pastic and or coating to thin it enough to cause this effect. I don't see that it would be anything to worry about.
