HD 16:9 to 4:3 Letterbox

I have HD 16:9 footage (720p) captured with a Panasonic HVX200. Need to convert to it 4:3 letterbox...can I do this in the sequence? In exporting?

I once had anamorphic 16:9 footage (on standard MiniDV) that I put into a 4:3 sequence, and FCP automatically converted the image to 4:3 letterbox - all I had to do was render everything. I'm trying to do something similar here...but I guess it's different when working with HD video.

Not really. This can be accomplished easily by exporting a Quicktime Movie (Ref movie, no need for it to be self contained), then re-import that and drop it onto a DV NTSC sequence, and render. Or simply copy all the clips in your HD sequence and paste them into a DV sequence. But I prefer the export/import option, for if you are going from 23.98 to 29.97, then gaps will appear between the cuts if you copy and paste the sequence.
