Publically playing iTunes Purchased Music
I didnt know where else to post this, so I apologise if this is "out of topic" etc.
Im James, 18, UK. I do many things, I produce video documentaries on a freelance basis and I also build websites and have founded several small businesses with my family. I do all of my work on a Mac (Mac Mini and MacBook Pro).
Anyway, I love music. I love iTunes.
People in my area keep asking me to be a DJ for them at some local events, and I would love to - with my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. I would like to use iTunes.
However, I am aware that laws do exist, and some music you obtain (whether from a CD rip, or purchased from the iTunes Store) there is restrictions. Being a DJ, it would obviously be classed as "public performance", and I dont think you are really allowed to do that with music are you, unless you have a license?? It often says that music is for private use only.
I know people still do play music to crowds etc, but I'd rather do things by the book instead of taking legal risks.
Many Thanks,
James
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.9), I also have a PowerPC Mac Mini
