Using powerpoint on split screen

Hi when using powerpoint i prefer using split creen because I sometimes need to alter text etc and prefer to do so without an audience seeing. On a PC this was easy but on my mac I still haven't found a way to do this. When i use split screen in powerpoint i go into presenter mode which is useful enough but it doesn't allow me to edit things. Is there any free methods to fix this problem? Or at least any 'cost effective' ways to fix it?

If you want extended screen on your iBook there is a program called Screen Spanning Doctor. It will enable dual screens. PowerPoint will display the editor and notes on the primary screen, and have the slideshow on the extended screen. You can change which screen is primary, and orientation in screen preferences in system preferences.
Note: This is not supported by apple, and since it modifies your firmware it could void your warranty. I have been using it for a year without any problem though.
