.mov to .avi

..having tons of trouble with this!

We have a hefty PC with presentation software on it connected to our HD projector (in a theater), but the software does not take QT -- only AVI's.

How can I reliably convert a mov to an avi without loss? I tried MPEG Streamclip, but the PC does not recognize the AVI that is produces. Maybe I need add'l codecs on the PC??

Any insight??

Thanks

Steven

Export using Qicktime Conversion

QT has an AVI option, select animation in the drop down then hit options. set your compression (i use DV/DVC-PRO since that's what I edit in), set quatlity to full.

My PC can read that file no problem.

Keep in mind, PC's seem to have trouble playing a file at the resolution. You can then use Windows Media Encoder to turn it into a WMV.

I think you hit th enail on the head in your first post. MPEG Streamclip's AVI wrapping is just fine. The question is, what codec are you using to create those AVI's? It needs to be one that is compatible with the playback codecs you have available on your PC.
