Proper way of adding new Apple Loops folder to "Jam Pack Management" list?

I've got a new DVD with Apple Loops that I want to add to the Loop Browser in Logic. I have copied the files to a new folder inside my main Apple Loops folder which I keep on an external drive. My Apple Loops are sorted into folders from where they came, i.e. "Jam Pack 1", "Dance Pack 1", "ProPack for Garageband" etc.

I know I can just drag the loops onto the Loop Browser, but I want to make sure the new folder appears in the "Jam Pack Management" list, just like all my current folders that resides in my main Apple Loops folder. It's been a while since I did this the last time, and I have forgot how I did it then, but I remember that it took a lot of trial and error to get my folders show up in the "Jam Pack Management" list (since regular folders don't have an installer like Apple's Jam packs).

In user/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops, I have aliases of all my folders, pointing to their respective folders on the external drive. I have so far also made an alias there to the new folder on the external drive. And for some reason, in the "User Loops" folder, I also have an alias to the whole "Apple Loops" folder on the external drive, as well as aliases to all the individual folders inside of that folder as described above.

I would appreciate if someone could tell me what to do next. And also tell me how to make sure the loops turn up in Garageband as well...

I looked into this a while ago, as I couldn't see where this was stored, so I could edit these (actually delete them) myself.

They are stored in Logic's preference files. Make a backup of your pref files - if you don't know what files these are, or where they are, give us a shout - and then open the plist version in the plist editor or a third-party one if you don't have the Apple developer tools installed.

Then locate and edit the entries accordingly.

Note, I haven't done this myself (haven't got around to it yet) so I can't verify that it works, or whether Logic automatically builds these entries every time it runs, but give it a try - as long as you backup your prefs files you can't hurt anything.
