Older emac error

We have some older emacs (still running under OS9)

I tried to switch it over to run under OS 10 -- these computers have OS 10.2.8 (I think)

When the computer restarted....the gray screen with the gray os 10 apple comes up....the little wheel underneath is spinning....
Then, everything stops...in the upper left corner...this little message appears.

What do I need to do?

I'm thinking I need to find the original disks and start up from the cd....

any ideas??
