Thumbnail disapearing act

Hello to all, since about 2 days my camera's thumbnail disapears at the start of a video conference. When I invite someone and they answer, as soon as the conference start I see my thumbnail go to the corner of the screen as usual but once it reaches the edge of the window it disapears.

Any thoughts on this?

Do you mean that the entire rectangle disappears or that it just shows black?

If it's the first, do you have Chax, Conference Recorder, or any other iChat add-on?

I system prefs you can adjust the screenresolution of your monitor.
Check wether changing your resolution helps.

The entire rectangle disapears. I have iGlasses anf Conference recorder. But I don't see them as culprit because they have been there for over a year and it always worked fine.

I kinda suspect the latest Quicktime update, but I'm not sure. The only workaround I found is to open my video window and put it beside the conference window.

Hi Yvon,

I know that Chax has a setting for doing away with the Pic in Pic and I presume Conference Recorder does as well.

I would check the Preferences of iChat or the Video menu of iChat as that is where Eccam normally add their menu items to iCaht.

What an idiot I am 😉. You're absolutly right. I had check but overlooked it. At one point I also had ChaxFX intalled but it was removed. Notheless, the option is actually there. Somehow it changed itself. Because I never (I swear) changed it.

Problem solved.

Sorry i didn't make clear that the reason I asked about Chax and Conference Recorder was that I know these two have a facility for suppressing the pic-in-pic.

Glad to see that you got it sorted in the end anyway.

Hello Dave, yes you did point me in the right direction. However, and for I don't know what reason, I fail to see the "obvious". I was kind of waiting for an answer when I replied to your post.

As I said in my reply ti Ralph, I was pretty dumb on this one. Because I never changed that preference, I assune it was non-existant.

If I can make it up to you let me know how.
