Panasonic NV-GS320

I have recently purchased the above camcorder which uses mini-DV tapes. I would like to know how to take the footage from the tape into imovie HD. I have tried firewire conection and usb none seem to work. Panasonic manual useless. I think there must be a setting on the camcorder but can not find it.
