Creating shot sheet / music cue sheet from timeline
Hi -
I have an hour program finished and as producer/editor on the job, I need to make both a shot sheet (each shot - it's description, reel and duration) and music cue sheet (cut name, disk, publisher, etc.).
What I'm looking to do is somehow make this easier. I want to, essentially, print out the timing properties of each shot in the timeline as a text file that I can cut and paste from.
Initially I though making an EDL would be an easy solution but most of the templates truncate the reel numbers and no matter what format EDL I create, the text file always ends up a barley-understandable mess! I have been playing around with 3rd party programs like "XML2Text" and SoundCount". Sound count actually works fairly well for the Music cue sheet. But nothing gives me the video information that I need (reel number, duration, cliip name of each shot) in a text file I can cut and paste from. Besides, these programs seem really buggy. I then tried lassoing all the video on the timeline and selecting "properties>timing". This gave me a window with all the info I need - but I cant cut/paste it and I cant seem to make it a text file I can work with!
I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through this and figured out some brilliant solution. There's got to be a way to do this, right??
Thanks
Mike
