Does the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW accept DVI from a Mac?

I recently acquired a Samsung 226BW monitor but it will not recognize a DVI connection with my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo. I can connect by using the DVI to VGA connection but, although I'm getting a good display, I'm sure it's not as good as it could be. All the info from Samsung seems to indicate that the monitor will not accept DVI from a Mac. Has anyone successfully connected to this monitor (or it's 20 inch sibling) via DVI?

The answer is Yes. I finally got hold of Samsung and they talked me through the setup (which was not evident from the instructions that came with the monitor). Frankly, I don't see any difference between the analog and digital inputs, but then I'm an old man with failing eyesight. The displays are "mirrored" now. Maybe using the extended setting will change things. Anyway, it's a good monitor and I like it.
