May 27, 2007 6:01 PM in response to fordwichby Grant Bennet-Alder,In an emergency, XPostFacto WILL run in Mac OS 9 using an OS 9 CD. This can allow you to make minor disk repairs, re-arrange files, and move preference files that are interfering with correct operation. Then you can run XPostFacto and it can repair any of the parts it has installed, and boot Mac OS X from there.
But booting to an OS 9 CD will not allow you to boot from the Mac OS X 10.3 Install CD (or re-install Mac OS X) since booting to the OS X 10.3 Install CD using XPostFacto requires that the Mac OS X CD be in the drive, not OS 9.
