An unexpected error occurred (error code -10660)

Should be simple, but I get no match on apple.com for the error code.

Double-click on an .app (ms word 2004) or other .apps and I get the error. Drag the file to the menu icon and it starts ok.

Yeah- i get that message too. It think it has to do with the demo version of word that came installed. I just upgraded my computer and I brought over all my programs (including office) so I turfed the demo version of office. Now when I double click a .doc or a .xls file - there is no demo program and I get the error message. I have tried to set all .doc files to open with the version that I have --so far no luck. You can use "open with" by right clicking on the icon....I am here searching for a fix that works

Hope that helps - Good luck

According to the LaunchServices Reference, that error is:

kLSAppInTrashErr -10660 The application cannot be run because it is inside a Trash folder.

You'll have to hunt down why it thinks the app's in the Trash. Look at the results from a search in these forums for office demo or do a search in the various MS Office newsgroups at http://groups.google.com/groups/dir?sel=33607054
