Creating an SPF record

I have been told i need to create an SPF record for our domain/IP address and apply it accordingly.

I understand roughly what SPF is but don't know where I should append it i.e my mail server etc etc?

Dual 2 GHz G5 Running 10.4.9 Server., Mac OS X (10.4.9), Filemaker Server 7 Advance, OS X Mail Server, Soft Raid 3.6

If you only want to publish an SPF record, your mail server doesn't even enter the picture.

An SPF record is a TXT record to be added to your domain's name server zone file.

Thanks but I don't access to our DNS servers they are with our hosting/registrant company so thats that kind of stuffed?

Your ISP/hosting company should be willing to add the SPF record to your DNS record. It's not a big deal to add.

Then you should have an access via an online control panel, or if not they have to add it for you. I suppose you are paying them for hosting your DNS.
