Keychain Access Corrupted? Trying to install PKI Certificates...

I'm using an iBook G4 w/ Tiger 10.4.9. To access some pages for work I need to install PKI Certificates. I was given a CD with the necessary certs on it (3 of them) and instructions from another mac user on how to install them. I double-click on each cert, Keychain Access opens up then I enter the password and it should work from there. Well, after I enter the password my Keychain Access quits itself and I get the "this program has unexpectedly quit" error message with the 3 choices of Reopen, Close or Report. This happens with all three certs at the same point every time I try. I attempted just looking at my Certificates but that also causes Keychain Access to shut itself down. It seems like it's Keychain Access that's having the problem. Please help! Any advice on fixing Keychain Access and/or how to install PKI certificates on a mac would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

You might have some corrupted preferences files. Here's how to take care of that. Locate this file: com.apple.keychainaccess.plist It's located here:
MacintoshHD/Users/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file, drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash.

And... run Disk Utility. It's here: Applications/Utilities. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, then click Repair Disk Permissions.

Sam, I think it's good advice to go to the Disk Utility and 'Repair Disk Permissions'. It may help with your Keychain Access and it's a good idea to do this every now and then anyway. It certainly won't hurt anything. I didn't think of it yesterday. We already tried trashing the permissions and that didn't help.
