upgrading to 2gb ram in macbook

hi everyone , i'm wondering how to upgrade to 2 gb ram in macbook. i suppose that macbook has only two slots for ram,is it true? well if it's then the two of them are occupied with 512 mb for each, which is the standard for 1gb macbook,so when we want to upgrade to 2gb,using 1gb we need to buy 2 1gbrams as we cant use the 1gb from the two 512 mb because of the short of ram slots. Is iT true???

Thanks

Hi,

Yes that memory will work, but I think that link you sent is for 1 x 1 GiB stick, and if so the price is very expensive. For comparison, if you were to buy the same memory at Crucial (which is a reputable supplier) it would cost you around €50 including shipping, so approximately 464 SEK.

If you were to buy 2 x 1 GiB sticks from Crucial, which you need if you want 2 GiB RAM in total, then it will cost about €92 or 846 SEK, inclusive of shipping.

Here are the links:

Hope this helps.

Ok then. Well i found the same memory for a smaler price:
http://www.levitech.se/showProd.asp?prodid=473467

2x341 sek = 682kr total for 2x1024MB so that is as cheep as you can find them (here i sweden anyway)
I just wanted to verify that i had picked the right model.
I`ve heard and read that you should not pick Crosair for Macbook but Kingston will work fine.

The Crucial memorys you are reffering to i cant find dealers for here in sweden and i dont want to buy from another country.
But thanks for the help anyway!
