TV Tuner Card, can Mac's support them?

I would really like to upgrade my PowerPC dual 2.0ghz G5 with a TV Tuner card so that I can hook up various video components to my Mac. Problem is I don't know much about TV Tuner cards, which ones are compatible with my Mac, etc. etc.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi-

No cards as such, unless you have a graphics card equipped with s-video out.
Some explanation beyond "hook up various video components" would help. What, specifically do you hope to accomplish?

For TV for the Mac, you'll want to look at the Elgato products:

Hi-

Setting up th XBox in an ethernet network seems to be the way to go. Depending on your current network setup, you may not need any more hardware. At the most, an Ethernet adapter card, or router should do the trick.

xBox and the Mac

I had a similar issue...but my solution was to ditch both of my 21" tube CRTs and get a 22" flat panel LCD with multimedia inputs.

I have my Nintendo Gamecube hooked to the component inputs, the Sony DVD player to the S-video input, and the Mac through the DVI input. The audio for everything is routed through a switchbox and a set of powered speakers. Just shuffle with the input button to change sources.

My monitor is a Westinghouse LCM-22w2 22" LCD Display. Very nice display. I'd recommend it and saves me tons of desk space plus giving me flexibility to use it for more than PC work.

Good luck...

Rob

Well, I'd ideally like to hook up an Xbox 360 to the
card so that I can use the computer monitors for
game-play. I'm looking to conserve space in my rather
cramped office, and would rather not spend more money
or space with a TV.
