iPhoto Won't Recognise My Kodak G600 Printer Dock.

I am trying to print from iPhoto using a Kodak G600 printer dock.

I went to File>Print but my new G600 understandably wasn't shown so I went to Printer>Add Printer and successfully added my G600. However under Print Using it asks you to select a driver or printer model and Kodak is not shown on the drop-down list.

Consequently I am not able to print to my photo printer from iPhoto.

Any ideas?

Julian:

Have you checked with Kodak's site to see if there's a driver available for download? Was there a CD that came with the printer that might have the driver?

Failing that, you could try downloading and installing Gutenprint - 5.0.0 an open source UNIX based print driver package.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

What did you use to install them? Also there are a lot of strange menus in the Printer Setup Utility where you can go to find printers. Have you tried them all under More Printers, etc. If you try the Gutenprint it may have the kodak driver you can select.

Also have you search this form for Kodak to see if other's have had and solved the problem. I've seen Kodak printers mentioned several times.
