I just got my new MacBook and I have my display setting on 1280x800. The problem is that when i open Safari to surf the web, every website I go to the browser window only fills half of the screen. I hit the green button at the top, left of the screen and it still won't fill the screen. The only way I can fill the whole screen is to lower the resolution to one of the lowest settings (800x600, I think). How can I leave my resolution setting on 1280x800 and still get my browser to fit my screen?
congrats on your new macbook! normally the safari browswer adjusts specificallty to the webpage you are on when you hit the green button. if you want to make it full screen, you should be able to go down to the bottom right corner of the window and drag. my cureent settings are 1280 by 800, and i can make my pages full screen. The green button is not the maximize button, it just makes the page as big as is needed. Hope this helps!
drag this script to your bookmarks bar. Then when you click it ,it will resize like you want. Once it's there right click and look at properties. rename it to whatever you want.
Exit Safari and relaunch it. Now position the window where you want it and drag the lower right corner with the lines in it to the size you want. Now click the yellow button and it will minimize the window to the Dock. Click on the window in the dock and you're done.
