im trying to do a music video with lyp syncying,, the track syncs nice esxcept in a few spots, and id like to delete those parts and not have the other clips that are ok move? am i making sense.

ill want to come back and fill in differenct images in the spaces deleted, but still have the good clips in there exact location..

Manny,

You can use Advanced>Lock Audio Clip at Playhead to lock an audio clip to a particular piece of video. That will help you a little.

What you can't do is lock audio or video to a point in the timeline.

Once a piece of video is deleted, all the video after it will pull up to fill the space.

The only work around is to carefully note how much time you're deleting and then replace it with exactly the same amount.

Once you delete some video you might try dragging back the clip that snaps in to fill the void. This will create a clip of black that you can use as a place holder until you find something to replace it with.

Tedious, I know, but there's always Final Cut Express if you get desperate!

can i open an imove project in final cut express....?

are tehy slightly similar? you mentioned a void....i think i know what you mena, i have one long take of the song which was li synced pretty good....where the parts that are off i want to fill in with other pieces from other takes, totally different footage...

this is where im having a problem..there would be a space between two clips which i would want to fill....i do not think i can determine the length of this space?

thanks

Manny,

"can i open an imove project in final cut express....?"

Yes, you can.

"i do not think i can determine the length of this space?"

When you select a clip in the timeline, the length of the clip is displayed. If you make note of the length of what your deleting you can then spread the clips on either side apart to compensate.

That will create a clip of black as a place holder which can later be replaced by another clip.
