Q: Pismo sound (speakers/headphone port) cuts out

I have a rather beat up Pismo 400 that I got on ebay. When I received it, the sound wasn't working at all, so I replaced the sound board (I figured the original sound board was probably unsalvageable, due to the fact that the headphone jack had been smashed in about a centimeter or so).

For about two months after that, the sound worked fine. Now, often when I move the computer, unplug/plug in the power, or especially when I move the screen (forwards, as though to close it) the sound cuts out completely (nothing from the internal speakers, and nothing from the headphone port). I can usually get the sound back by muting/unmuting it, or putting the computer to sleep.

Is this a known problem? Is there any way to fix it? Should I just open up the Pismo again and see if anything looks like it's coming loose?

Due to the condition the computer was in when I got it, I thought perhaps the sound problem might be endemic to it, but I thought I'd better ask anyway.

Thanks in advance

That was a pretty simple problem once I got the computer open and looked at it. Under the power button clutch cover, there should be 3 long silver torx screws, one on the left, one in the center, and one on the right. This Pismo is missing two of those. When I reassembled it the first time, I put the lone screw in the center, thinking that would be the best place for it. When I got a second look at it though, I realized that the rightmost screw drops down through the audio board, securing it in place. Without that screw, it could move around, and cause sound problems (probably some power problems too, since the wall adaptor plugs into the same board, but I didn't notice any).

Don't know as anyone else has or ever will have a similar problem, but that seems to be why it was happening.
