MIME plug-in?

someone please help!! I have power emac with OS 10.3.9. my road runner homepage wants me to download flash player 9. when I do this, I get a pop up that says I don't have the MIME plug-in. I don't know where that is or how to find it. the pop up refers me back to the adobe download page where I got the Flash Player 9, but it has no plug-in!!

I unistall Flash player and tried again to no avail. this is very frustrating to me. any thoughts>

Hi

Which browser are you doing this in - Safari? Firefox? Internet Explorer?

sorry--safari. the pop-up I get reads:

The page macromedia-Flash Player has content of MIME type "application/x-shockwave-flash" but you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page: www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer.

when I go there, I am back to where I started with the flash player 9 download.

I see I have a Realplayer plug-in and something called a Sibelius score.

thanks.

Delete the flash components in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins, quit all browsers, reinstall FP 9 version 45, launch Disk Utility and repair permissions, restart, launch Safari, Safari->Help->Installed Plug-ins, and you should see:

Shockwave Flash
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45 — from file “Flash Player.plugin”.
MIME Type Description Extensions
application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf
application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl
