Just purchased Samsung 941BW and it does not connect via DVI with MBP 17

I just purchased Samsung 941BW and when connected via DVI, the monitor does not work.

But when connected DVI-VGA adaptor, it works fine!

Any ides why DVI-DVI connection doesn't work?? It says its mac compatible....

Any help would be greatly appreciate it!

MacBook Pro 17inch, Mac OS X (10.4.7)

hey,

maybe your monitor is set to vga and you can switch the monitor to dvi input? or does it recognize the input automatically?

Its automatic and the computer and the monitor seems to do something when DVI port is used.

I've spent 2 hours last night trying to get this thing working.. No luck! I guess I'll return it and get another monitor.. Any recommendation for good/cheap 19inch DVI monitors for MBP 17inch??
