Audio distribution via ethernet network between 2 macs, possible?

Hi

There used to be a program (there is one for P.C.) which allows a person to distribute audio via ethernet port to another computer and out the same or chosen audio device.

Can anyone advise on anything like this now for Intel macs?
I want to distribute the audio output of a PPC (G4) to a iMac Intel.

Please advise

MacBook "Black" 120HD, Mac Mini 1.42Gig, G4 450x2, all w/1GB, LogicPro/Pro Tools, Mac OS X (10.4.9), AirTunes, BT Mouse & keyboard, iPod-V, Nano, HP1500, LG 32" LCD

I'm using 48KHz on the master in Logic and 48KHz on the slave in Garageband. The master is a Macbook Pro, the slave is an iMac G4 1.25. Both running OS 10.4.9. I use the AMS to set up MIDI networking and AUNetSend/Receive for the audio. I've got a single network cable running between the two Macs. The iMac is also a Logic node.

It works, not really stressed it much yet, but it's fun

If either Mac is running the firewall it won't work. So, you have to open the port. On both Mac's:

Go to System Preferences
Select Sharing
Click Firewall
Select New
Under Port name, choose Other
Enter 52800 as the TCP port number, leave the UDP entry blank
For the description give it something nice like AUNetSend

If you want MIDI Networking via AMS, repeat the steps and change the port number to 5004 and the description to something meaningful.

Btw, these are the default port numbers

Other than that, stick the AUNetReceive in the slot where you'd normally put a soft synth, and the AUNetSend as a effect insert.

With MIDI networking, make a session in the AMS, then in Logic add it to the Environment as a MIDI instrument and you can then use it like an external hardware synth.
