virtual pc 7 for mac

I just received vitual pc 7 for mac and tried to install it. I am not sure why it is not installing on my mac. The installation starts out fine - it seems to install what is necessary and asks me to restart. After restart it should continue with installation but instead it asks me to fix or disable or decide later on the settings for this application- when I opt to fix it it restarts again. After restart it does not go on to continue the installation. After startup it just says the application failed to open - then - reopen, retry or cancel. I hit reopen nothing happens, retry it goes rigt to report to apple. I need to run virtual pc because of the many programs I have that only run on windows. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it so much. I did notice in the system requirements it mentions that I must have A native G3, G4, or G5 Macintosh computer — processor upgrade and/or accelerator cards are not supported by Microsoft for use with Virtual PC
• Mac OS 10.2.8 or Mac OS 10.3.x — a G5 Macintosh must be running Mac OS 10.3.x to run Virtual PC
• 512 MB of RAM and 3 GB of free hard-disk space
• A 700 MHz processor, minimum

I have a macbook - mac os x with 2 ghz intel core due and 1 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram.

I am not very technical when it comes to this kind of stuff - so maybe someone could tell me if I meet the requirements.

I was considering parellels, but purchased this because it came with the windows operating system - XP - and parellels does not - I thought I would save money and get a program that has both. I do not know what to do! Please help! Thanks!!

macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.9), 2 ghz intel core due

Thank you for your help - if i use paralells do I still need a windows OS? I assume I do, but what about boot camp- have you tried either one of them? The program I need to run the most is the windows .exe setup programs - if there is any other way I could accomplish this - please let me know. Do you think crossovers would work with .exe files, I tried to find out on their site -but could not. I need the .exe files to run so I may get back to my online business - I am loosing so much money trying to get this to work! I thank you again for your help.

I tried Bootcamp, and it worked absolutely fine. I saw Parallels in action several times on different machines, and it looked fine, too. However, I did never work with Parallels myself.

There is no way running Windows software on Mac OS X, as the operating system interfaces are not compatible. However, there are several projects making Windows APIs available on Mac OS X, but none of them is really ready to use. Crossover is such a project, but not as reliable as a "real" Windows nor capable of running all software. However, just try it, there is a free of charge demo available, so you've nothing to loose.
