Hi,

I have just installed 4 of these and I also do not see any temp readings from Hardware Monitor.

Has anyone got any sensor reading from these ram chips?

I have the KTA-MP667K2/2G kit installed in Riser A/Slots 1 and 2 and they run fine with temperature readings in Hardware Monitor.

Thanks for the info.

I only get readings for A1,A2,B1 and B2 which is the original ram.

Ram seems to work ok, ran extended test a couple of times with no problem.

I have emailed the developer of Hardware Monitor to ask him about it, maybe its a problem with Hardware Monitor and A3,A4,B3 and B4.

Do you see and readings from A3,A4,B3 and B4?

I have the following configuration…

A1/2 - 2 x 1GB (Kingston KTA-MP667K2/2G)
A3/4 - 2 x 512MB (Apple)
B1/2/3/4 - 4 x 512MB (Apple)

… and all memory slots and bank points report temperatures.

Ned, can you please help clarify something about this RAM type.
Why does it not have heatsinks?
or is just another type of heatsink?

Eh? Why does what not have heatsinks? If you are referring to the Kingston KTA-MP667 model RAM it does. My Kingston RAM looks identical in every way (including the heatsinks and excepting the Kingston logo of course) to my Apple RAM. In actual fact, once installed it's very difficult to tell the difference.

I searched the KTA-MP667K2 model on Google and what I see are what look like brackets on the sides.
I have 2-1gig sticks from Crucial that have 4 heatsinks (black bars) on the sides.
Also have 2-512mb sticks that are Hynix, and those look like the Crucial sticks.
My other 2-512mb sticks however are from Ondamatic and look like the
KTA-MP667K2 model.
Obviously there´s some confusion on my part, just looking for clarity.

Be aware that the pictures you find on the internet aren't always accurate, even from the manufacturer. As long as you buy RAM by manufacturer part number, in this case the Kingston part which is prefixed by KTA-MP667, then there's not a lot to worry about.

Think I should start a new thread for my concerns cause I´m still looking for clarification about the different looks of MacPro Ram.

I use Hardware Monitor 4.11. It the same thing (same developer) but more. As for the RAM, I have no idea what revision numbers they are and to find out I'd need to open my MP up. Next time I do that I'll let you know.

Strange... In MacPro with GeForce 7300 run fans OK.

The fan noise you hear is not the MPs fans but the ATi X1900 XT's fan. The Nvidia 7300 GT doesn't have a fan. The X1900 fan is rather crappy and load.

I didn't think to look in the memory box so my ELP number is 9965286-025.A00LF.
