I use a dsl modem and have a desk top connected to airport extreme. also got my macbook pro to work wirelessly.
however, the amber light continues to blink.
i can't get it to be green.
any thoughts on why this might be

I have the same issue. New Macbook, blinking amber light that won't go green. Although it seems to run fine. I've tried the reset switch and unplugging then replugging it in with no change.

I originally had this problem when i got my router, i connected it up and used the airport set up assistant to configure the router wheich worked fine as i connected to the internet but my router still flashed orange. I then installed the enclosed disk and the Airport utility and then reconfigured using the new Airport utility. ( i uninstalled the old airport set up). I also installed it on my Windows PC and now it is green. Hope this helps. I suspect it was something to do with the old software for the old extreme.
