IPod Video and Kenwood Interface

I have been using the KCA-iP500 Ipod Interface on my car stereo (Kenwood DDX8027) for quite some time and i am very happy with it.

However, after long research and testing,i noticed that as soon as ipod is connected to the interface, it disables the video-out (the option of TV on is set).
If Ipod is disconnected from the interface the video-out is enabled and the movies is displayed.

So there is no way to play a movie while connected 😟

Did anyone find a work-around for this ?

I hope its a bug in the software that apple will fix.

I use the same interface to connect the iPod to my Kenwood car head unit.

When connected, my iPod shows a Kenwood logo in the screen and the controls of the iPod are disabled. I then operate the iPod through the car head unit.

I have a car unit with a video screen and have not tried to play movies via the iPod, but as far as I know, you can't operate the iPod independently when connected to the car unit.

Well I can't that's for sure. Maybe your car unit works differently?

Hi Jeff,
i have the same setup as you described and works unfortunately again as you mentioned.

I am able to add in a playlist music video clips and music which can be hear and controlled thought the unit.

However, there is no output when the video clip plays ( i have connected the video out of the ipod to the video in of the head unit).
I was hoping to overcome the last point but no luck so far.

Cheers
Chris
