USB-to-VGA adapter compatible with Mac?

Hi,

I'm trying to hook up an additional external monitor to my MacBook Pro using a USB-to-VGA adapter. I don't need any kind of graphics acceleration.

Here is the type of adapter I'm looking at:

Apparently some have gotten the 2nd one to work on Linux with the sisusb driver. Does anybody know if this is compatible with Mac OS X?

Your Mac came with a DVI to VGA adapter. Why do you need a USB one, when the DVI one is faster and more reliable?

Note the specs:

If yours was missing the adapter which is shown "In the box", call AppleCare to ask a replacement be sent.

I noticed that the page for the Matrox DualHead2Go Digital edition does in fact use USB. Also, it says they specifically support Mac OS X 10.4 (a good thing)!

I already have a monitor plugged into the DVI port. I want to hook up an additional monitor on top of that.

I think what you are looking for is Matrox's adapter:

Much faster than USB, and uses the built-in display capabilities.

That is pretty much exactly what I need. (Apart from the fact that it is very expensive and doesn't come out until later this year...)
