slow solitaire

slow solitaire

I am sure that one of you wise folks will know the answer to this one.

I am using Marine Aquarium as my desktop "picture." There are no blatant slow downs in running programs, except for Solitaire Til Dawn. It runs painfully slow--I end up trying to motivate the cards as they move ("...come on little fella, you can make it...").

Any ideas? Any fixes?

I didn't see an update to universal for that game!

I downloaded v.1.5 and even though it is PPC software, it runs quickly for me. How much installed RAM do you have? How many apps do you open at the same time? How many PPC apps do you use at the same time?
I use Solitaire XL. It is Ub, free, lets you use your own photo for the cards and is a lot of fun for me.

I have 1G of RAM. No other programs open except for the screensaver running as a desktop. That's the issue. Without using Marine Aquarium as my desktop, STD is super speedy. I'm trying to get a handle on why that is and how to fix it.

I notice in the Install instructions it says to reset your Display to Thousands of colors. Did you do that? Most Intels are set at Millions.
Also, which 17" iMac do you have? The base model with the integrated video?

Tried changing the display to thousands of colors--sadly, no change. It was a good try, though.
