Hello my name is Rafal and this is the first time for me using this site. I am really not sure where and how to ask questions or part take in discussions. But if I have taken the right step here I have a question as to why I can not adjust the back light of the keyboard until the light in the room dimms. Is there some seting that I am missing. Because when I want to light up the keybord in daylight, when I hit the button it doesnt respond showing a icon like a circle with a line through it. Can You help me with this? Or point me in the right direction?

Hi Rafal,

The only way to do what you are trying to do is by disabling the light sensors. There is too much light getting to the sensors disabling the light. Cut a strip of black (dark) construction paper to place over the hinge area and you will be able to adjust the keyboard's brightness and not have it go dim as your display gets brighter.

Welcome to the board ..

You can set your preference for keyboard illumination in System Preferences, and then clicking on "Keyboard and Mouse".

You can also gain even more control by using an app call LabTick. You can find that application here:

Cover the light sensors in the back left/right perforated grill (they are next to the speakers) and then the keyboard backlightng buttons will be enabled.

Or, check out LabTick that lets you set the level at any time.

It looks like it is just a labeling issue and that you have a Lithium-Polymer battery.
