Forgot user name and password iBook G3 900 Mhz

Hi,
It's sound stupid but I know that you could help me with this. I forgot the username and password, is there any other way of retrieving my username and pssword on my iBook without reinstalling the Mac OS again? Thank in advance. God bless you all.
Regards,
Olan

Are we talking about a FireWire drive? They are the only external drives with which I have any experience (and the only ones from which you can boot with a Power PC-based Mac).

You hook the FW drive up with a six-pin to six-pin FireWire cable. It should mount on your desktop.

Are you wanting to do clones from which you can boot, or are you just wanting to use the external FireWire drive for additional storage? You can partition and format the external drive from Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Choose to format as HFS+ Journaled when creating your partitions.

If you're wanting to do clones, SuperDuper! seems to be the application of choice around here, and it's what I use.
