convert cda music file to mp3?

Just exactly how did you create this file? AFAIK Matt is right: the cda file is not an actual music file, but rather a file on a CD that instructs the player on using the CD. See this:

On a Mac you would put the CD in in the drive and then tell iTunes to import the track.

I do believe CDA files are the music files how they are presented on the cd, if thats so you should be able to just import the cd into itunes.

In the "Importing" pane of iTunes' "Advanced" preference, set "Import Using:" to "MP3 Encoder". You can then hold down the Option key and choose "Convert to MP3" from the "Advanced" menu.
