Lexmark Printer Version X6170

I just purchased a new imac and my Lexmark printer driver will not work with the OS. Any clue will help. The X6170 driver is not on line or in the pull down menu.

Thx

imac, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Hi there!

I am afraid Miriam is correct.

I just visited the Lexamrk site and as far as I can tell your model does not have a compatible driver for Mac OSX: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:383:0:0 - there is no work around, unles you can find a "similar" model that does have a driver for Mac's and try that. I have done that for other printer, i.e. used another driver to make the printer do something it may not have been designed to do etc etc etc...

Hi again,

<fwiw> I use an HP and an Epson quite easily on both a MAC and a PC. Personally I highly recommend HP printers, I have had the least amount of problems re: use with the MAC...

But I also have a backup printer for both and guess what, I lucked out with a LEXMARK Z55... If you like Lexmark printers look over the Mac OSX compatible printers here: http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,204816596666691854_682634834en,00.html

Good luck, Rick
