I just got an iMac with a wireless keyboard and mouse
and I was wondering if I should turn them off when I
am not using it at night and stuff?
Does it save battery?
No. The battery drain will be due to use, not sitting, as the mouse and keyboard don't stay "on." They did come with User Guides, right?
Specifically, the length of time the mouse is held in an active position will directly relate to battery life. When careless, it's possible to use up mouse batteries in a single day, so, for instance, learn how to use the keyboard to scroll, rather than just tensioning with the mouse. You will never use up keyboard batteries in a day.
How long does the keyboard and mouse usually last
before I have to change the batteries in them?
I'd guess if conservative you could replace batteries in a mouse monthly, keyboard twice a year. Estimates do not include gaming - too much of an unknown. Might want to consider rechargeables if your second set of mouse batteries don't make it past two weeks. Your first set won't last long while you're learning.
